About the role
Sheppard Pratt’s Residential Rehabilitation Program (RRP) supports individuals with serious mental illness who have difficulty maintaining housing. The program helps clients obtain housing, employment, mental health services, and more. This is a part-time, on-call direct care position in Gaithersburg, MD, providing support for mental health treatment in a safe, therapeutic environment that encourages independence and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Work one-on-one with clients as a residential counselor, helping them learn or regain skills for community and independent living and socialization.
- Ensure medication compliance, including responsibility for safety, dosage, and cleanliness.
- Collaborate with the service team to develop and implement individual service plans.
- Provide transportation to and attend clients’ medical appointments, offer advocacy, and document or follow through on instructions.
- Build rapport with clients and support them as they progress in recovery.
Direct care staff receive thorough training and supportive mentorship from senior staff members.
