Job description
About the role
Sheppard Pratt is hiring a part-time, on-call Rehabilitation Specialist Residential in Gaithersburg. The Residential Rehabilitation Program (RRP) supports individuals with serious mental illness who have difficulty maintaining housing. The team helps individuals obtain housing, employment, mental health services, and more.
This direct care role supports mental health treatment by providing a safe, therapeutic environment that encourages clients’ independence and well-being. Direct care staff receive thorough training and supportive mentorship from senior staff members.
Responsibilities
- Work one-on-one with clients to help them learn or regain skills for community and independent living and socialization.
- Ensure medication compliance, including responsibility for safety, dosage, and cleanliness.
- Collaborate with the service team to develop and implement individual service plans.
- Provide transportation to clients’ medical appointments, attend appointments, advocate for clients, and document or follow through on instructions.
