Senior Front-End Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an amazing Senior Front-End Web Developer to join our team and help shape the future of our live streaming experience.

In this role, you will lead the development of our user-facing video platforms, building highly responsive, pixel-perfect UI components in React while managing the complex orchestration of real-time data and media streams.

Tasks

• Architect, develop, and maintain high-performance web applications using React and TypeScript.
• Implement and tune player libraries (such as Video.js, Hls.js, or Shaka Player) to ensure seamless, buffer-free playback across devices.
• Build ultra-low-latency interactive features including live chat, real-time reactions, and viewer polling using WebSockets or SSE.
• Develop broadcaster interfaces that leverage browser media APIs to capture high-quality webcam, mic, and screen shares.
• Continually optimize application bundle sizes, state management, and DOM rendering to handle thousands of concurrent live events.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience with React.js, TypeScript, and modern front-end development.
• Strong experience with live video streaming protocols: HLS, MPEG-DASH, or WebRTC.
• Hands-on experience with HTML5 Video, Media Source Extensions (MSE), and Browser Media APIs.
• Experience with Video.js, Hls.js, or Shaka Player.
• Real-time communication using WebSockets or Server-Sent Events (SSE).
• Experience with Redux, Zustand, Context API, responsive UI, and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with Jest, React Testing Library, and modern CSS frameworks.
• Nice to Have: Video streaming analytics and QoS metrics; AWS Elemental, Mux, or Livepeer; Framer Motion and advanced UI/UX animations.
• Work Authorization: USC / GC / H4 / L2S.
• Hands-on Live Streaming Experience is a must have.

Pay

• Up to $140,000 per year
