KORE RPO is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Special Education Attorney to join our team in Santa Ana, California. This full-time role offers a unique opportunity to advocate for the rights of students with disabilities within a supportive environment. You will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with special education laws and improving educational outcomes for children in need.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal advice and representation in special education matters, including Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans.
- Conduct thorough legal research to support cases related to special education law and regulatory compliance.
- Draft and review legal documents such as letters of advocacy, settlement agreements, and judicial pleadings.
- Negotiate with school districts to resolve disputes and secure appropriate educational services for clients.
- Represent clients in administrative hearings, mediation, and court proceedings as necessary.
- Collaborate with educators, therapists, and other professionals to understand and advocate effectively for children’s needs.
- Stay current on legislative changes and advancements in special education law to ensure best advocacy practices.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in education law, specifically special education.
- Familiarity with IDEA, ADA, and relevant California state laws.
- Strong negotiation and litigation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
