Sr Data Engineer with Databricks (Certified)

Requirements

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 10-15 years of experience in data engineering, including significant hands-on and architectural experience with Databricks.
• Active Databricks Certification required (Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional strongly preferred).
• Deep expertise in Apache Spark (PySpark/Scala) and Delta Lake, including performance tuning at enterprise scale.
• Strong experience with SQL and query/performance optimization for large, complex datasets.
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms - AWS, Azure, or GCP (Azure Databricks or Databricks on AWS/GCP experience preferred).
• Proven experience with orchestration tools (Airflow, Databricks Workflows, or similar) in production environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Unity Catalog, Delta Live Tables, and Databricks SQL.
• Advanced proficiency in Python for data engineering and automation.
• Deep understanding of data modeling concepts (star schema, medallion architecture - bronze/silver/gold layers) and enterprise data architecture.
• Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines for data workflows.
• Demonstrated experience leading data engineering initiatives and mentoring engineering teams.
