Technical Support Engineer (Tier 2/3) – Oracle / SQL

We are seeking a seasoned Tier 2/3 Technical Support Engineer to join a global application support team serving enterprise clients across the US West Coast.
This is NOT a traditional Help Desk role. It is a high-complexity, client-facing position requiring strong database troubleshooting skills (Oracle/SQL), experience with sensitive data in regulated environments, and fluent English communication. You will act as an extension of our core engineering team, investigating root causes and directly interfacing with enterprise client stakeholders.
Key ResponsibilitiesInvestigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex production issues reported by enterprise clients.Write, analyze, and optimize Oracle SQL queries to diagnose issues and perform safe data fixes.Handle sensitive data with strict adherence to data integrity, security, and change control processes.Support and investigate incidents across cloud infrastructure (AWS - EC2, RDS, logs).Lead client communications via email and video calls with structured updates, clear root-cause explanations, and professional empathy.
Requirements3+ years of experience in Tier 2/3 Application Support or Database Support for enterprise software.Strong SQL expertise (advanced joins, subqueries, query optimization, data fixes).Proven experience handling sensitive data in regulated environments (e.g., Biotech, Healthcare/Life Sciences, Banking, Finance, or Government).Fluent English (C1/Advanced) — Excellent written and spoken communication for direct US client interaction.Experience adhering to strict data security, audit trails, and production change management.
Bonus Points / Nice-to-HaveHands-on experience with Oracle Database administration/developer tools.Familiarity with AWS services (EC2, RDS, monitoring & logs).Background in SaaS or Biotech / Life Sciences applications.
