TIG Welder

MAU is hiring a TIG Welder for our client in Columbia, SC. As a TIG Welder, you will fabricate and weld piping assemblies and structural steel while ensuring all welds meet ASME pressure vessel and piping code requirements. This is a direct-hire opportunity.

General RequirementsAbility to weld pipe diameters ranging from 1/2" to 36" in all positionsAbility to pass a welding test in the fixed 6G positionAbility to operate a high-frequency amperage control foot pedal while weldingAbility to weld structural steel in all positionsAbility to identify the correct filler wire for a given base metalAbility to interpret drawings and welding symbols used in fabricationAbility to calculate pipe fitting take-outs and piping measurements
Essential FunctionsWeld pipe diameters ranging from 1/2" to 36" in all positionsOperate a high-frequency amperage control foot pedal during welding operationsWeld structural steel in all positionsSelect the appropriate filler wire based on the base metal being weldedEnsure all welds meet ASME pressure vessel and piping code requirementsPrepare pipe fittings and pipe ends for full-penetration welds on pipe assembliesPerform GTA welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and duplex stainless steelInterpret fabrication drawings and welding symbols for piping assemblies and skidsCalculate pipe fitting take-outs and piping measurements
