Job Overview
A premier intellectual property law firm is expanding its Trademark and Copyright practice and seeks a talented Trademark Associate Attorney to support clients in protecting, enforcing, and maximizing the value of their intellectual property portfolios. The successful candidate will advise clients on domestic and international trademark matters, including clearance, prosecution, enforcement, litigation support, licensing, advertising, and brand protection strategies.
This position provides meaningful client interaction, direct mentorship from experienced intellectual property attorneys, and the opportunity to work on sophisticated trademark matters involving globally recognized brands across numerous industries. Duties
• Advise clients regarding U.S. and international trademark counseling, clearance, prosecution, and portfolio management.• Conduct and analyze trademark clearance searches and provide strategic legal recommendations.• Draft and respond to United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Office Actions.• Prepare cease and desist letters and develop trademark enforcement strategies.• Handle trademark disputes involving domain names, UDRP proceedings, and TTAB actions.• Assist with trademark litigation support and copyright-related matters.• Advise clients on branding, advertising, marketing, and social media legal issues.• Draft and negotiate trademark licenses, coexistence agreements, and other intellectual property agreements.• Collaborate with attorneys across multiple intellectual property disciplines on complex client matters.• Maintain and strengthen client relationships through practical, business-focused legal advice.• Monitor trademark portfolios and identify opportunities for enhanced intellectual property protection.• Stay informed regarding developments in trademark, copyright, advertising, and digital media law.________________________________________
Requirements
• 2–4 years of trademark and copyright law experience.• Active membership in a state bar and compliance with applicable CLE requirements.• Experience handling trademark clearance, prosecution, enforcement, and portfolio management.• Strong familiarity with USPTO procedures, TTAB proceedings, and UDRP matters.• Superior legal writing, analytical, and research skills.• Excellent academic credentials.• Outstanding oral and written communication abilities.• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.• Ability to manage multiple sophisticated client matters simultaneously.• Commitment to exceptional client service and collaborative teamwork.________________________________________Education• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.________________________________________Certifications• Active membership in a state bar.• Compliance with applicable continuing legal education requirements.________________________________________
