Unit Manager - Medical Ward

THE MAIN PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:
The Unit Manager will also be responsible for monitoring and ensuring that Quality nursing care and service delivery is implemented and practiced within a multidisciplinary team.

In accordance, the Unit Manager will be accountable and responsible for coordinating capacity building, mentoring, coaching, training and development in his / her unit.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensure that your unit is providing care, correct and effective quality of patient care in line with clinical governance strategy of the hospital and evidence-based practice.
• Ensure that patient’s primary and patient care is delivered with stakeholder contribution.
• Monitor and ensure patient safety, clinical outcomes and the patient care environment.
• Provide adequate resources and support to nursing staff.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
• Ensure that the unit is managed in a cost-effective and efficient manner.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Relevant management experience with relevant management experience
• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse and enrolment as a Nurse (unit)
• Compliance with the SANC code for a Registered Nurse and all applicable healthcare regulations, applicable.
• 3 years management experience
• Shift Working
• CAPM/ASM
• Compulsory BLS certification
• Advanced Computer Literacy
