Visual Annotation Expert

Join our dynamic team as a Visual Annotation Expert on a contract basis, located in United States of America. This position is within an innovative tech company known for its cutting-edge advancements in artificial intelligence and machine learning. As a vital contributor to our projects, you will play an essential role in enhancing our data quality through precise visual annotation, impacting the accuracy and performance of our AI systems. Key Responsibilities Perform detailed visual annotation tasks on diverse datasets to support AI model training. Collaborate closely with data scientists and machine learning engineers to ensure annotations meet project specifications. Review and validate existing annotations, providing feedback and corrections as necessary. Utilize specialized annotation tools to efficiently complete tasks and optimize workflows. Participate in project planning sessions, offering insights on annotation strategies and potential challenges. Maintain thorough documentation of annotation processes for quality assurance purposes. Meet project deadlines while maintaining a high standard of work to achieve success metrics. You’ll collaborate directly with Mercor’s project leads. Start dates are rolling; we aim to onboard qualified experts within a few days (1‑2) of application. Up to 40 hours of work available per week. Fully remote and asynchronous, so it can be flexible to your schedule. The project is expected to last a minimum of 4–5 weeks, with potential for extension. Required and preferred qualification Have experience in one or more of these archetypes: movie producers, film editors, screenwriters, archivists, media analysts, or generalists with excellent attention to detail. Apply judgment to decide which attributes best describe a scene and how to express subtle narrative or emotional cues. Combine strong attention to detail with the ability to clearly document findings. Excel at following precise instructions and quickly adopting new requirements.
