🚨 Hiring: WAF / Akamai Security Engineer C2C
We are actively hiring experienced Akamai Security Engineers for multiple open positions with our client.
📍 Locations:
New York, NY
Alpharetta / Atlanta, GA
Montreal, QC, Canada (additional location)
🏢 Work Model: Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week in NYC or Atlanta
🤝 Final Interview: In-person interview is mandatory
📌 Priority: Candidates local to New York or Atlanta, GA
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of hands-on Akamai experience
Strong expertise in Akamai Kona Site Defender
Experience with Akamai Bot Manager
Hands-on knowledge of Akamai API Security
Strong understanding of OWASP Top 10
Experience in security incident response and troubleshooting
Key Responsibilities
Lead onboarding and migration of internet-facing applications to Akamai WAF.
Configure and tune WAF policies, investigate false positives, and manage transitions from monitor to deny mode.
Monitor and analyze WAF, Bot Manager, DDoS, Client Reputation, and API Security events.
Troubleshoot production issues related to WAF policies, traffic routing, latency, and application behavior.
Support AI/LLM and API security initiatives, including emerging Akamai AI security capabilities.
Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and security teams on enterprise-scale security initiatives.
Conduct quarterly security reviews, platform upgrades, and operational reporting.
Engage with Akamai product and engineering teams for advanced troubleshooting and roadmap discussions.
Preferred Qualifications
AI/LLM Security experience
Akamai Firewall for AI
Enterprise-scale WAF migration experience
Financial services industry experience
