Construction Project Manager II

About the role

Baird is seeking a Construction Project Manager II to lead commercial office projects from planning through occupancy. The role manages multiple projects at once, including office renovations, relocations, and new office buildouts, working with business units, consultants, contractors, and internal partners to deliver projects on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with Baird workplace standards.

The role also supports process improvements and helps ensure consistency across the project portfolio. Success requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to partner effectively with business units while managing consultants, contractors, and project schedules across multiple active projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial office construction projects from planning through completion, including new offices, renovations, relocations, and workplace improvement projects.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining schedules, budgets, scope, quality, and stakeholder alignment.
• Partner with Transaction Management, business units, and other stakeholders to evaluate project needs, office locations, budgets, schedules, and overall project feasibility.
• Coordinate project teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, furniture vendors, technology teams, security partners, and other internal stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide regular project updates, communicate key decisions, and escalate risks or issues that may affect schedule, budget, or business operations.
• Track and maintain project information within Tango and keep project documentation complete and up to date.
• Review design documents and construction plans for alignment with workplace standards, operational requirements, budgets, and applicable building codes.
