The organization offers opportunities to contribute to a variety of construction projects in the San Juan area and beyond.Role Description The Cost Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in San Juan, responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing project plans and specifications, quantifying materials and labor, and developing comprehensive budgets and cost projections. The role involves collaborating with project managers, engineers, and procurement staff to validate estimates, update cost data, and support bid preparation. The Cost Estimator will monitor cost trends, assist with value engineering, and provide cost reports throughout the project lifecycle. This position requires consistent documentation, use of estimating software, and adherence to company standards and industry best practices.Qualifications Strong cost management and cost control skills to develop, track, and manage project budgets.Proficiency in project estimation and budgeting to prepare accurate bids and financial projections.Advanced analytical skills to interpret drawings, specifications, and data for reliable cost analysis.Experience with construction industry practices, materials, and methods.Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering plans.Comfort with estimating and spreadsheet software; strong Excel skills preferred.Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional project teams.Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.Previous experience as a cost estimator or in a related construction cost role is highly beneficial.
