About the OpportunityA hospitality group with a growing portfolio of boutique properties is turning a residential building in San Juan into an upscale social hostel. The property is steps from the beach and built around local experiences like surfing, diving and fitness. We are looking for a General Manager to join during planning and renovation and lead the property through opening and beyond.
Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with ownership during pre-opening on layout, amenities, guest flow and operating decisionsBuild and lead the opening team, including hiring, training and schedulingOversee daily operations: front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, guest experience and safetyDevelop the guest experience and community programming, including local partnerships for tours, activities and eventsDrive revenue through pricing, occupancy strategy, add-on sales and online distribution channelsManage budgets, P&L and operating costs, and report performance to ownershipProtect online reputation and keep service standards consistent across the property
Requirements3+ years of management experience in a hostel or social/lifestyle accommodation (required)Pre-opening or renovation experience strongly preferredSolid grasp of hostel revenue drivers: dorm pricing, OTA management and ancillary revenueHands-on leader who is comfortable in a start-up settingFluent in English and SpanishBased in Puerto Rico, or open to relocating (Miami-based candidates welcome)
