Mental Health Monitor Sitter

The Mental Health Monitor/Sitter provides continuous observation of patients who are on suicide watch, in restraints, or otherwise identified as being at risk of harm. The monitor, sitter, and/or responsible to provide continuous observation and documentation of observations, as well as supporting mental health care services. The position is responsible for completing notes, documenting all patient activity and incidents, and supporting the mental health unit. Must follow facility procedures and ensure patient safety.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide continuous observation of patients on suicide watch, in restraints, or at risk.
• Monitor and document patient observation and activity.
• Conduct observations and reporting of patient activity at intervals.
• Report incidents and concerns per facility procedures.
• Follow all facility safety protocols.
• Complete and maintain documentation related to patient observation.

REQUIREMENTS
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Previous experience working with at-risk or patients with behavioral concerns (6 months of prior experience preferred).
• Ability to maintain detailed observations.
• Strong communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a medical setting.
• Must be available to work.
