We are seeking a skilled R&D Electrical Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for a wide range of engineering functions involving the design and development of high voltage Bus System products and develop new and improved designs. As industry standards continue to adapt, you'll support the research and development function to improve or enhance existing designs, and to ensure that the HV Bus product line remains current with industry requirements.
What You Will Experience In This PositionPerform dielectric design and electrical stress analysis of HV components and systems using finite‑element tools (e.g., COMSOL, Electro, Coulomb, or similar)Optimize component geometry to reduce electrical stress and improve performance and reliabilitySupport customer‑specific designs, including voltage ratings, insulation systems, and testing parametersDevelop and maintain electrical specifications aligned with IEC, ANSI, NEMA, and CENELEC standardsCollaborate on type testing and validation, including dielectric, continuous current, and short‑circuit performanceWork closely with manufacturing, suppliers, and purchasing to qualify materials and componentsContribute to new product development, cost improvement initiatives, and documentation
You HaveBSEE or MSEE or related fieldIdeally 3+ years of experience in one or more of the following:High‑voltage equipment or componentsPower transmission & distribution systemsElectrical insulation or dielectric systemsUtility, rail electrification, industrial power, or similar fieldsExperience with electrical stress analysis, insulation coordination, or high‑voltage testingFamiliarity with IEC, ANSI, or NEMA standards (SF₆ or non‑SF₆ systems a plus)

Pay TransparencynVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
Compensation Range$83,500.00 - $155,200.00Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
