At Sappi North America, a leader in sustainable forestry and paper production, we are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Remote Bookkeeper to join our financial team. Based out of Boston, Massachusetts, this full-time position offers the flexibility of remote work while contributing significantly to the financial health of our organization. As a key player in maintaining our financial records, you will directly impact our decision-making processes and overall company growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records by managing accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure all discrepancies are resolved promptly.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts to guide financial planning.
- Process payroll and ensure compliance with tax regulations and deadlines.
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial insights and support for projects.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial policies.
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- Associate’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or equivalent).
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- 2-5 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
Preferred:
- Certification in bookkeeping or related field is preferred.
