Job description

About the role

Sheppard Pratt is hiring an Art Therapist LGPAT or LCPAT for the Child Unit. The role provides professional art psychotherapy treatment and services to individuals and groups.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm. Job location type: In Person.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate patient focus and strive to exceed patient and family expectations for customer service.
  • Use professional observation skills to assess patients’ functioning individually and in group activities. Complete art therapy assessments as requested.
  • Interview patients and assess their functional level according to professional standards.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to develop a safe and therapeutic plan of care.
  • Identify and deliver services according to patients’ specific needs, diagnosis and population.
  • Provide consultation, instruction and direction to clinical staff, students and volunteers.
  • Complete accurate, complete and timely documentation of initial screens, assessments and ongoing treatment progress, in accordance with hospital and program standards.
  • Report pertinent observations to appropriate team members.
  • Select and maintain supplies and equipment that support appropriate treatment concepts and suit patients’ skills, creativity levels and ages.
