Attorney – Large Loss/Excess Liability

Tasks

• Manage complex large loss and excess liability litigation from inception through resolution.
• Develop case strategies for high-exposure claims, including liability, damages, and coverage analysis.
• Handle complex discovery, expert witnesses, and depositions.
• Draft and argue dispositive motions and manage settlement negotiations.
• Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation.
• Build and maintain relationships with insurance carriers, corporate clients, and self-insured entities.
• Support business development and growth of the firm's litigation practice.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active Pennsylvania law license - mandatory.
• Senior-level litigation experience.
• Strong background in insurance defense and complex litigation.
• Experience handling large loss, excess liability, or other high-exposure matters.
• Ability to independently manage complex cases.
• Preferred: New Jersey bar admission.
• Preferred: Trial experience, including first-chair or significant second-chair responsibilities.
• Preferred: Experience handling catastrophic injury and significant damages cases.
• Preferred: Experience representing excess insurance carriers.
• Preferred: Portable book of business or established relationships with insurance carriers and corporate clients.
