About the role

Johns Lyng USA is a leading general contractor in the United States, specializing in occupied space reconstruction. Its suite of brands serves specific market segments.

Responsibilities

• Attend site inspections and generate detailed scopes of work using Procore and EB; experience is preferred.
• Review blueprints, specifications, and other project documents when provided to understand the scope of work.
• Determine quantities and costs for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Obtain and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes to assess market pricing and identify competitive, reliable options.
• Identify potential site hazards and consider the means and methods needed to perform the work.
• Ensure work meets industry-leading SLA standards, including estimate turnaround times and conversion of estimates into revenue.
• Work with the account management team to explain estimates and scopes of work to clients.
• Occasionally attend client pitches and presentations to convert estimates into revenue.
• Establish and expand local subcontractor and supplier lists and relationships.
• Take ownership of assigned projects from start to finish, provide regular communication using estimating management software, and attend weekly sales and estimating meetings.

Requirements

• Minimum 3–5 years of estimating experience.
• Proven drive and energy.
