Job description
TekBricks is hiring a Cybersecurity Engineer in Waxhaw, North Carolina. This full-time, on-site role focuses on protecting systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. You will monitor security activity, identify vulnerabilities, investigate incidents, and implement controls that reduce risk and support compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor networks and systems for security breaches and suspicious activity.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
- Implement and manage security tools, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and antivirus solutions.
- Investigate security incidents and perform root cause analysis.
- Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards.
- Support compliance with frameworks and regulations such as ISO 27001, NIST, SOC 2, and HIPAA.
- Perform risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to support secure system design.
- Stay informed about emerging cybersecurity threats and technologies.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of cybersecurity or information security experience; candidates with strong skills and less experience may apply.
- Knowledge of network security, encryption, authentication, and access control.
- Experience with SIEM tools such as Splunk, QRadar, or Microsoft Sentinel.
- Understanding of cloud security across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
