About the role
HJ Towing Recovery is hiring a full-time Diesel Mechanic for work in Carlisle, Grantville, or Ebensburg, PA. The role involves vehicle maintenance and repairs, diagnosing mechanical issues, preventive maintenance, and maintaining heavy equipment. The mechanic will document maintenance and repairs and help ensure compliance with safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and repair or replace faulty parts.
- Perform vehicle and equipment maintenance, including preventive maintenance.
- Maintain service records and document maintenance and repairs.
- Follow safety procedures and communicate with supervisors, dispatch, and customers.
- Perform mobile repair services and run a service truck when needed.
- Work one weekend a month of your choice on call as a mobile mechanic.
- Help with other tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Proficiency in diesel mechanics and experience working with heavy equipment.
- Experience in vehicle and equipment maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues independently.
- Good communication skills and attention to detail.
- Own tools and reliable transportation.
- Technical certifications are a plus; previous towing and recovery industry experience is an advantage.
