Job description
About the role
LCRA is looking for a leader to guide the teams, systems, and technology that support the safe, reliable, secure operation of the transmission system. The role provides strategic direction across the Energy Management System (EMS), Substation Wide Area Network (SubWAN), system modeling, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and inspire technical teams to deliver operational excellence.
- Ensure compliance with NERC CIP, ERCOT, FERC, and applicable standards.
- Lead the development of plans, risk management, budgeting, and asset management.
- Ensure safe, reliable system performance and effective emergency response.
Requirements
- Twelve years of experience in electric utility transmission operations, transmission engineering, or other relevant experience, including at least five years of management responsibility.
- A degree in engineering, engineering technology, or a relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
- Driver's license.
Preferred qualifications: Deep expertise in NERC CIP, ERCOT, FERC, and reliability requirements; experience with power system modeling, training simulators, and system integration; and experience leading cybersecurity and critical infrastructure technology.
