EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR | ZOO NEW YORK

THE ROLE
• Lead long-term strategy and strengthen organizational and financial health.
• Develop new revenue opportunities, corporate partnerships, and earned income.
• Lead fundraising, major gifts, annual appeals, capital campaigns, and grants.
• Build relationships with municipal partners, donors, sponsors, and the community.
• Serve as a visible public voice for Zoo New York across Northern New York.
• Provide executive oversight of administration, visitor services, and facilities while supporting the Animal Curator and partnering with the Board.

WHAT YOU BRING
• 5-7 years of senior leadership experience in the nonprofit or for-profit sector.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
• Strong budgeting and B&P oversight experience, ideally including financial stabilization or transformation.
• Demonstrated success securing major gifts, grants, and sponsorships.
• Strategic vision, decisive leadership, diplomacy, political savvy, and strong public speaking skills.
• Zoo, cultural institution, tourism/destination management, municipal government, or grant-writing experience is a plus.

EXPECTED SALARY RANGE: $75,000–$90,000
