Job description
We are seeking an experienced General Counsel to join our legal team in Singapore. In this full-time, on-site role, you will shape legal strategy, advise senior leaders, support regulatory compliance, and protect the organization’s interests in a complex business environment. You will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and collaborate with leaders across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on contracts, corporate governance, risk management, and other legal matters.
- Lead negotiations and draft legal agreements that safeguard the organization’s interests.
- Manage litigation and dispute resolution matters, engaging external counsel as needed.
- Oversee compliance programs and support adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
- Research legal and regulatory issues and provide strategic guidance to senior management.
- Partner with internal teams to promote legal awareness and a culture of compliance.
- Monitor legislative changes that may affect the organization and brief the executive team.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal qualification.
- At least five years of experience as in-house counsel or in a similar legal role.
- Demonstrated expertise in negotiation, compliance, and litigation.
- Experience with contract management and corporate governance.
- Strong legal research, advisory, and risk management skills.
- Professional certifications in compliance or corporate governance are a plus.
