About the Opportunity
We are a Fort Worth-based manufacturer fundamentally changing how buildings are powered. Instead of traditional AC electrical wiring, our platform delivers lighting, networking, and building controls over converged low-voltage DC cabling. This approach allows buildings to use approximately 25% less energy, reduces build-out costs, and makes facilities smarter from day one. As our pipeline of schools, warehouses, hotels, and offices grows, we are seeking a Network Field Engineer to commission these next-generation buildings and keep our customers running smoothly.What You'll DoCommission smart-building projects from active construction sites to fully operational networks.Configure and validate on-site networks, including managed switch setup, VLAN segmentation, DHCP, and IP addressing schemes.Bring PoE lighting, shades, access control, and other building systems online alongside field electricians and system integrators.Troubleshoot link issues, misconfigured devices, and cabling faults under real job-site conditions.Stage and pre-configure equipment at our Fort Worth facility between site visits.Provide remote support to customers and installer partners after project handoff.Build network diagrams, IP schedules, and how-to guides to accelerate future projects.Required Skills & Experience2+ years of hands-on experience in networking, low-voltage systems, or IT field work.Working knowledge of VLANs, DHCP, subnetting, and IP addressing schemes.Experience configuring managed switches via CLI and web GUI.Proven ability to diagnose and resolve network link problems, misconfigured devices, and cabling faults.Comfort with hands-on field work involving ladders, lifts, ceiling spaces, and test equipment.Strong documentation habits to create easily followed network diagrams and IP schedules.Self-directed and dependable ability to stay productive on a small team without close supervision.Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites, including occasional overnight trips.Nice to HaveExperience with PoE lighting, lighting controls, or other smart-building systems.Background with enterprise switching platforms such as Allied Telesis or Cisco.CCNA, Network+, RCDD, or BICSI credentials.Familiarity with low-voltage/Class 2 (or Class 4 Fault Managed Power) systems and structured cabling standards like NEC Article 726.Experience working on active construction sites alongside electricians and low-voltage contractors.
Location: Full-time, on-site in Fort Worth, TX, with travel to project sites as needed.
