People Operations & Recruiting Intern

About the role

Emergent is building AI infrastructure to help developers create reliable AI products. As a fast-moving, early-stage startup, Emergent gives every team member the opportunity to make a meaningful impact. The People Operations & Recruiting Intern will work directly with the founders and gain hands-on experience supporting recruiting, onboarding, workplace operations, events, and employee experience.

Hiring and recruiting

• Support the recruiting pipeline by posting openings, reviewing resumes, coordinating interviews, and communicating with candidates.
• Maintain the applicant tracking system and help provide an excellent candidate experience from application through offer.
• Coordinate interview schedules and follow up with candidates and hiring managers.
• Assist with new-hire onboarding, including equipment, account setup, welcome materials, and first-week logistics.

Events and community

• Help organize and attend hackathons, technology meetups, recruiting events, and industry conferences.
• Coordinate team events, offsites, and internal culture initiatives.
• Represent Emergent at university and community recruiting events when appropriate.

Office operations

• Help maintain organized office systems and shared spaces, including conference rooms, kitchen equipment, office boards, and common areas.
• Support a clean, functional, and welcoming workplace.

Role details

This is a full-time, in-person internship in San Francisco, California. The position is hourly and non-exempt and pays $22 per hour.
