Principal Data Engineer/Architect

About the role

The Principal Engineer 1, Data Platforms serves as thetechnical lead accountable for the data platform.

Tasks

• Architecting the solution, building alongside the team, holding the quality bar, and driving deliverywith urgency and accountability.
• Work directly with business partners across the organization to understand their data needs, translate requirements into platform capabilities, and ensure the UDP delivers real, measurable value to every function it serves.
• Build the operational foundation that keeps the platform healthy as adoption scales: supporting models, SLA frameworks, and feedback loops that make the platform responsive and reliable.
• Define and track technical KPIs like pipeline reliability, data freshness, query performance, onboarding velocity, incident resolution and use them to drive continuous improvement.
• Serve as thetechnical lead for client’s Microsoft Fabric-based data lakehouse - workspace topology, OneLake stor

Requirements

• Experience 12-15 Years
• Citizen,GC
• Our client would prefer a person who lives in Southern CA.

Schedule

• Hybrid
• Onsite presence in San Diego, CA at least 2-3 days each week.
• Duration 6 months +
