About the role
The Retail Bakery Crew role at Thebackyardbakers includes customer service, baking, food preparation, and operational duties.
Responsibilities
- Take customer orders and provide excellent customer service.
- Handle cash transactions and cashiering duties.
- Report to the Operations Manager.
- Perform basic on-site baking and food preparation.
- Prepare basic coffee and beverages (barista duties).
- Conduct quality checks on all products.
- Perform daily stocktake of baked goods produced and sold.
- Wash and maintain all baking equipment, utensils, and workstations.
- Sweep and mop the kitchen and retail areas daily.
- Assist with other operational duties as assigned.

- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Responsible, reliable, and able to work independently.
- Physically fit and able to lift 10–15kg safely when required.
