Senior Mechanical Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Mechanical Engineering III for a Contract job with a client at Erie PA 16531 (onsite). Ideally we are looking for Mechanical Engineer having Electric Machine designing experience.
Pay Rate: $60 - $70/hr; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Role Summary:Essential Responsibilities:The Engineer will provide design solutions and work with cross functional teams to meet assigned objectives and new product development. In this role you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
Qualifications/Requirements:• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (or related field)• Minimum of 5 year of experience in related field• To be available for work in Erie, PA region throughout the contract• Basic Knowledge of Electric machines design principles
Desired Characteristics:• Strong technical aptitude, including; applicable engineering tools and systems knowledge• GD&T, drawing release, and tolerance stack-up analysis expertise• Familiarity with design, test, and analysis tools and systems• Strong understanding of electrical machines theory and application• Proficiency with engineering tools related to Stress analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics, and Vibration Analysis such as; Ansys or equivalent• Familiar with Six Sigma tools and generating DFMEAs of components and subsystems• Strong oral and written communication skills• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills• PC proficiency
