Staff Backend Engineer

Tasks

• Leading design and implementation of core backend systems (APIs, services, data flows)
• Driving architectural decisions and technical standards across the engineering org
• Mentoring senior engineers and raising the overall technical bar
• Partnering with product and infrastructure on cross-functional initiatives

Requirements

• 8+ years of backend engineering with genuine staff-level scope and impact
• Deep expertise in Go, Rust, or Python at scale (Go/Rust strongly preferred)
• Experience designing distributed systems that handle real load
• Track record of influencing technical direction, not just executing

Schedule

• Hybrid (3 days in office)
• W2 only. No C2C. No third-party agencies.

Pay

• $220K–$260K base
