Junior Environmental Scientist

A Junior Environmental Scientist participates in an emergency response team, conducting environmental sampling and data collection. The role includes research and investigations to identify, abate or eliminate sources of pollutants or hazards affecting the environment or population health. The scientist may collect, synthesize, study, report and act on data from measurements or observations of air, food, soil, water and other sources.

Responsibilities

• Apply scientific methodology to risk assessments and industrial hygiene applications to meet client expectations.
• Maintain a response bag with company-issued PPE and appropriate work clothing.
• Participate in on-call rotation for emergency response, which may extend to satellite offices as necessary.
• Travel frequently and for extended periods; travel on a moment’s notice may be required for response staffing support.

• Use knowledge of various scientific disciplines to support environmental sampling, data collection, research and investigations.
• Maintain a response bag with company-issued PPE and appropriate work clothing.
• Be available for on-call emergency response and frequent, extended travel.
