Property Accountant

Location: Downtown Indianapolis, IN

Salary: $78,000–$85,000

Schedule: Fully in-office for the first 6 months; after 6 months, strong performers may work from home 1 day/week.

About The Opportunity

A growing Indianapolis-based real estate organization is hiring two Property Accountants to join their accounting team. This is a great opportunity for an accountant looking to build a career in property accounting with tons of room for growth and advancement.

One of the two positions requires prior property management/accounting experience, while the other is open to candidates coming from a broader accounting background.

What You'll Do

Prepare and analyze financial statements for a portfolio of assigned properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standardsReconcile bank accounts, general ledgers, and balance sheetsAssist with budgeting, variance analysis, and financial forecastingPrepare journal entries, accruals, and other accounting adjustmentsDevelop relationships with clients and serve as a professional point of contact

You will gradually build your property portfolio and will not be responsible for 15 properties immediately.

What We're Looking For

2–3+ years of accounting experienceBachelor's degree in Accounting or a related fieldProperty management/accounting experienceStrong attention to detail and accuracyProfessional communication and client/customer-facing skillsAbility to manage relationships with multiple clients and entities

Preferred Experience

Entrata or RealPage experienceAudit experience or exposure to the audit processPublic accounting or client-facing accounting experienceExperience working with multiple entities, branches, or locations
