About the role
Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Behavioral Health - Adult Intensive Unit (Males). The position is full time, with three 12-hour shifts from 7p to 7:30a. The hourly rate is $35.35 to $53.58. A sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates; eligibility and payout terms apply, and details are discussed during the interview process. The interview process includes one interview, quick decision-making, and flexible scheduling.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients and develop individualized nursing care plans.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions.
- Monitor patient condition and document care in the EMR.
- Respond to psychiatric crises using appropriate de-escalation and intervention techniques.
- Facilitate therapeutic groups and provide patient education.
- Implement seclusion and restraint procedures in accordance with policy when clinically indicated.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, therapists, social workers, and the interdisciplinary care team.
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, coping strategies, and discharge planning.
- Promote patient safety, recovery, and positive clinical outcomes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintained thereafter.
- Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards.
- Working knowledge of the interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming, and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units.
