About the role
Evertec is a full-service transaction processing company delivering merchant acquiring, payment processing, and business solutions services. The Senior Backend Developer will design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable backend services for high-volume transaction processing and mission-critical financial applications. The role involves implementing APIs, optimizing database interactions, and integrating with internal and external payment systems.
Responsibilities
- Write clean, maintainable code and perform code reviews.
- Troubleshoot production issues and improve system performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to architectural decisions.
- Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and quality standards.
Requirements
- Strong foundation in computer science, including data structures, algorithms, and systems design.
- Proficiency in back-end web development, including RESTful APIs, microservices, and database integration.
- Experience across the software development life cycle, from requirements analysis to deployment and maintenance.
- Advanced programming skills in one or more backend languages, such as Java, C#, Python, or Go, and scripting tools.
- Expertise in object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.
