Water & Wastewater Project Engineer

About the role

As a Professional Engineer at Consor, you’ll apply engineering principles and technical expertise to the design and analysis of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You’ll own specific design tasks, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure work meets technical standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations while developing your professional engineering judgment and leadership skills.

This job operates between an office environment and a field environment. It may involve occasional exposure to inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazards, atmospheric conditions, and bodies of water, depending on project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review design plans, calculations, and technical documentation for pipelines, pump stations, and treatment systems.
• Apply engineering standards and design codes to ensure technical accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct hydraulic modeling, flow analysis, and system evaluations to support design and planning decisions.
• Coordinate design efforts across internal teams, subconsultants, and regulatory agencies.
• Support project managers with technical input, cost estimating, and quality control reviews throughout project development.
• Use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copy machines.
• Perform duties involving frequent sitting, moving, standing, talking, and hearing, and occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline.
• 4+ years of water and wastewater engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Basic proficiency in AutoCAD & Civil 3D software is a plus but not required.
