Account Clerk duties and responsibilities
Account Clerks manage accounts and provide support for the accounting, finance and sales departments. They may also be responsible for payroll or maintaining vendor accounts and processing procurement requests for goods and services. Other duties and responsibilities include:
Manage the full accounting cycle including accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, inventory and reporting
- Prepare invoices
- Prepare bank deposits
- Prepare bank and credit card reconciliations
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
- Establish and maintain relationships with vendors
- Utilize QuickBooks accounting software to perform daily tasks
- Maintain inventory of office supplies and order new supplies as needed
- Maintain office files, implementing an efficient system for other staff to access files and records
- Create and update databases and records for financial information, personnel and other data
- Manage all incoming and outgoing correspondence
- Answer phone calls in a professional manner
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable/receivable processes and procedures
- Familiarity with financial services and concepts
- Ability to prepare and post journal entries accurately
- Proficiency in using QuickBooks accounting software
