Professional Nurse – Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa

Tembisa hospital is hiring a full-time Professional Nurse in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. In this in-person hospital role, you will provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care and help improve patient outcomes in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ needs and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Monitor patient progress and accurately document changes in condition.
• Explain care plans and post-discharge instructions to patients and families.
• Coordinate patient care with doctors, nurse practitioners, and other clinical staff.
• Support patient admissions and discharges, completing required documentation.
• Help maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and collaborate with departments to improve care protocols and service delivery.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

• Registered Nurse certification is required.
• Strong patient-care skills and the ability to assess patient needs.
• Experience in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred, but not required.
• Proficiency with medical software and tools commonly used in nursing.
• At least two years of registered nursing experience is advantageous.

Team and Reporting

You will work closely with a multidisciplinary healthcare team and report to the Nurse Manager. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to coordinated patient care and ongoing improvements in nursing services.
