Accounts Executive - Payable

Our client, a leading UK-based supermarket, is setting up its back-office operations in Colombo.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Preparation of payment remittances with the supporting documents and updating supplier statements daily and uploading them in the SharePoint.

Dealing with the suppliers for any commercial and accounting issues and resolving them within the specified time and accounting them in Sage daily.

Reviewing the aged payables and ensuring all the accounts are up-to-date and accurate and completion of the bank reconciliation on a weekly basis.

Processing the supplier payments daily based on the advise by the management with the relevant documents and approval and the supplier-led documents approval with payments in the portal.

Preparation of VAT schedules on a monthly basis and ensure that VAT returns are completed.

Dealing with the suppliers for all commercial matters and responding to the queries of the customers whenever necessary.

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Good knowledge and skills in MS Excel
Hands-on experience in any accounting system (Sage preferred)
Working experience in cloud-based applications such as SharePoint
Fluency in English to deal with UK based stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Part-qualification in ACCA, CIMA, or CA, and/or a degree in Finance and Accounting.
Minimum 3 years of working experience in a retail company as Accounts Executive particularly in bookkeeping, accounts payable, bank reconciliation, and the preparation of GL schedules and VAT schedules etc.

ATTRACTIVE SALARY
LKR 100,000 to 150,000
