About the role
Bray International, Inc. is a provider of industrial valves, actuators, and related control products. The Engineering Manager - Electrics will lead a team dedicated to enhancing and sustaining actuator and control product offerings. The role manages a multi-discipline engineering team that researches and develops technologies, sustains the electrics portfolio, addresses production issues, supports sales opportunities, and collaborates with clients on critical field issues. The position offers broad visibility and potential for advancement within the Bray organization.
Responsibilities
- Oversee engineering efforts and projects for Bray’s family of Electrical Actuators.
- Manage a multi-discipline team to sustain the electrics portfolio and develop product enhancements and new features. Some team members may be in other parts of the world.
- Work with Sales engineering to address client requests.
- Collaborate with production, sales, and product management to identify team projects.
- Lead reviews and Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEAs) to help ensure product reliability.
- Direct investigations of field issues.
- Work with certification agencies and test labs to qualify products to meet industry standards, including UL, CSA, FM, and IEC.
- Guide the team in 3D modeling of actuator and control system components, tools, and accessories.
- Guide the development of electrical and circuit designs, including designing, testing, and validating new PCB assemblies.
- Guide prototype design and assembly based on design concepts, and feasibility and characterization testing on prototypes and final products.
- Guide the generation of drawings, bills of materials, work instructions, and engineering release notices.
