Lead Developer – Python Backend

Tasks

• Approximately 50% coding and 50% technical leadership
• Working closely with a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) and offshore engineering team

Requirements

• Strong hands-on Python backend development.
• Expertise in FastAPI, Flask, Async Programming, and Pydantic.
• Strong REST API design and OpenAPI 3.0+ experience.
• Technical leadership and offshore team coordination.
• Microservices Architecture, DDD, and API Gateway.
• Node.js service development.
• PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server.
• GitLab CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and Helm.
• Datadog, OpenTelemetry, and Distributed Tracing.
• Pytest, Integration Testing, and API Contract Testing.
• OAuth 2.0, Keycloak, JWT, and mTLS.
• Working knowledge of React, Redux Toolkit, and TypeScript.
• 8+ years of backend software development experience.
• 3+ years of technical leadership or offshore team coordination.
• Strong communication, mentoring, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to contribute code while owning technical delivery.
• Work authorization: USC / GC.
• Must be comfortable working onsite 5 days a week in Austin, TX.
