About the role

Alcoa is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the development and commercialization of innovative technologies at the Alcoa Technical Center (ATC) in New Kensington, PA. The role combines mechanical design, equipment development, troubleshooting, and project execution in a research and development environment.

Collaborate with engineers, scientists, technicians, and operations partners to drive technical innovation, improve equipment performance, and deliver practical engineering solutions that support strategic business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical advisor for programs and projects, providing guidance and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
• Support development, evaluation, and implementation of solutions that improve product performance, reliability, safety, and cost-effectiveness, reduce complexity, and support continuous improvement.
• Support capital and expense projects from concept through execution, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, risk assessment, resource coordination, and performance tracking.
• Drive equipment, process, and product design improvements through analysis, testing, root cause investigations, and data-driven decision-making.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, fabricators, contractors, and external partners, providing oversight to ensure designs and project deliverables meet requirements.
• Ensure compliance with applicable engineering codes, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies throughout project phases.
• Lead cross-functional problem-solving efforts and root cause analyses, facilitate consensus among stakeholders, and implement solutions.
