Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Paralegal to join our fast-paced mass tort, class action, and MDL litigation team in Newark, NJ. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of federal complex litigation who can support multiple active dockets from day one. You will work directly with seasoned trial attorneys, assisting with multi-district litigation, deposition campaigns, and federal court proceedings.
Key Responsibilities
- MDL & Mass Tort Case Management: Manage master case tracking logs, plaintiff inventories, and MDL court schedules. Monitor court orders, PSC filings, and case management orders. Coordinate with co-counsel and liaison counsel across jurisdictions.
- Deposition & Trial Support: Schedule and coordinate depositions of plaintiffs, defendants, and expert witnesses across multiple states. Prepare deposition binders, exhibit sets, and attorney outlines. Summarize transcripts and highlight critical testimony. Organize trial binders, exhibits, and demonstratives. Provide on-site and remote trial support as needed.
- Federal Court Filings & ECF: Prepare and file legal documents via ECF/PACER in federal district and MDL transferee courts. Monitor multiple federal dockets for filings, orders, and deadlines ensuring compliance with court rules.
Qualifications
- Proven experience supporting mass tort, class action, or MDL litigation teams.
- Strong knowledge of federal court procedures and ECF filing systems.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple complex cases simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
