Senior IBM MQ Exit Developer

Tasks

• Maintain and enhance existing IBM MQ Channel Exits, API Exits, and Message Exits using C.
• Ensure exit implementations are thread-safe and optimized for multithreaded MQ environments.
• Integrate MQ exit logic with external systems such as LDAP and REST APIs.
• Provide L3 production support and troubleshoot complex MQ exit-related issues.
• Collaborate with platform and application teams to modernize legacy MQ exit implementations.
• Evaluate native IBM MQ capabilities to reduce dependency on custom exits.
• Support MQ migration and modernization initiatives.
• Maintain technical documentation, coding standards, deployment procedures, versioning, and rollback plans.

Requirements

• 10- 12+ years experience.
• 10+ years of overall IT experience.
• Strong hands-on C programming experience.
• Extensive experience with IBM WebSphere MQ / IBM MQ Series.
• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining custom MQ Channel Exits.
• Strong knowledge of MQ Security Exits, API Exits, and Message Exits.
• Understanding of IBM MQ internals and messaging architecture.
• Experience with multithreading and thread-safe C programming.
• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, message transformation, and observability.
• Preferred experience: Enterprise messaging platforms, distributed and hybrid environments, legacy MQ modernization, production troubleshooting and performance optimization.
