About the role
The Management in Training - Operations (MIT) Program at POOLCORP is a hands-on training program based in a distribution warehouse. The six-month program provides guidance, support and resources to learn about the swimming pool supply, irrigation and landscape distribution industry.
Training is held on-site starting in December 2026 at SCP Distributors, 2610 NE Hagan Rd., Lees Summit, MO 64064. After completing training in May 2027, graduates are required to relocate out of state, with company-provided assistance. Program graduates are eligible to apply for available Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager roles nationwide.
Responsibilities
- Receive hands-on training and perform duties in every area of the distribution center, including operations, management and purchasing.
- Observe experienced employees to learn methods, procedures and performance standards for a successful sales center.
- Shadow contractors/builders, service/maintenance and retail store customers to learn about their aspects of the swimming pool, irrigation and landscaping business.
- Participate in classroom training at the EDGEucation Center in Plano, Texas. Topics include operations, financials, leadership, human capital management and operating systems.
- Give a comprehensive presentation to senior-level management at the end of the six-month program.
- Perform other job duties and special operations projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Associate’s degree in Industrial Distribution, Supply Chain Management, Management, Operations or another related discipline, with a minimum 2.5 GPA.
- Work experience in leadership and/or problem solving.
