S2M Health is hiring an Experienced Certified HCC Medical Coder in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. This full-time, permanent role is based in Ambattur or Perungudi and is suited to an experienced medical coder with AAPC or AHIMA certification and strong ICD-10 knowledge.
Role Overview
Review patient medical records and accurately assign diagnostic and procedural codes. You will help ensure coding complies with applicable guidelines and regulations while supporting an efficient coding process.
Responsibilities
- Review medical records for accuracy, completeness, legibility, and valid signatures.
- Determine valid encounters and assign appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes.
- Apply ICD-10 guidelines consistently and accurately.
- Handle sensitive data responsibly and promptly raise potential issues with supervisors.
- Manage coding work within the defined scope and resolve moderately complex problems independently.
- Collaborate with the team to address complex coding issues.
Qualifications and Skills
- AAPC or AHIMA certification.
- Experience in medical coding and a strong understanding of ICD-10 guidelines.
- Skill in evaluating medical record documentation, including completeness, legibility, and signature validity.
- Sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work with sensitive information.
- Ability to solve problems independently and work collaboratively on complex cases.
