Construction Litigation Associate

About the role

DHD Consulting is recruiting a Construction Litigation Associate for a sophisticated construction practice at a national law firm in Miami.

Tasks

• Manage construction and commercial litigation from case assessment through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, discovery, dispositive motions, briefs and settlement documents.
• Lead written discovery and large document productions.
• Prepare for, take and defend depositions.
• Analyze contracts, drawings, schedules, change orders, payment applications and expert reports.
• Work with construction, engineering, scheduling and damages experts.
• Take increasing responsibility for hearings, mediations, arbitrations and trial preparation.
• Communicate directly with clients on strategy, risk and next steps.

Requirements

• Licensed attorney with approximately 3–5 years of litigation experience.
• Hands-on experience managing matters from pleadings through discovery, depositions and motion practice.
• Experience with construction or complex commercial disputes. (contract performance, payment, defects, delays, design or engineering claims)
• Strong research and persuasive writing skills, including Florida construction and commercial law.
• Currently residing in South Florida and authorized to work in the U.S.

Pay

• Up to $350K, based on experience.
