Senior FHIR/HL7 Integration Developer

About the role

Support critical healthcare data interoperability initiatives for the State of Texas.

Tasks

• Designing secure healthcare interfaces, executing HL7 v2 to FHIR transformations, implementing US Core profiles, and integrating cloud-native health data ingestion pipelines.

Requirements

• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of Austin, TX.
• 15+ Years of overall hands-on IT software and healthcare integration experience.
• Prior State Health and Human Services (HHS / Public Health Agency) project experience is strictly mandatory.
• Availability for a mandatory in-person final interview at Austin, TX.
• Deep expertise in HL7 v2, FHIR (R4), REST APIs, JSON/XML mapping, and enterprise healthcare data exchange.
• Strong implementation background with FHIR servers/APIs, US Core profiles, and Electronic Case Reporting (eICR) Implementation Guides.
• Hands-on validation and mapping using SNOMED CT, LOINC, ICD-10, CVX, and RxNorm.
• Modern API and web service engineering using TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, React, and FastAPI.
• Architecture and ingestion pipelines on AWS (HealthLake, S3, Lambda), Snowflake analytics, and IaC (Terraform).
